One of the unfortunate results of Hurricane Sandy

Sandy raises coffins above ground in Maryland

In an eerie Halloween scene in Maryland, Hurricane Sandy literally raised the dead in its destructive wake, lifting a pair of coffins once buried six feet underground to the surface during flooding.

The coffins became dislodged as water saturated the cemetery in Crisfield, an Eastern Shore town badly battered in the storm. One silver and one bronze casket ascended from the ground. Officials believe bore could peek through.
