How Will Rethugs Behave If Obama Wins?

There's been a lot of speculation that, if Obama wins a second term, the Rethugs will be more willing to compromise.

I don't see it.

I think that if Obama wins, the Senate stays Dem and the House stays Rethug, we're going to see a repeat of the past 2 years. Frogface McConnell will again say the number one goal of the Rethug party is to defeat Obama and any Democrat who may try to succeed him. The Tea Party will be as nutty as ever.

I hope I'm wrong.

They will be so bad that their previous behavior will be fondly recalled as harmlessly eccentric, by comparison.

As for Rethug legislators, they will ramp it up, too. Whether it's ignorance, avarice, or some hybrid of the two, they and their knuckle-dragging, Faux-addicted minions are all crazier than shit house rats. Sorry, but offense to shit house rats is unfortunately necessary, in this instance.

They didn't want to look *too* unreasonable. But after the election, there will be no stopping the crazies in the House. I almost feel sorry for John Boehner.

President Obama looked weak in the first debate because he did not know how to debate lies.
During the vp debate Biden showed him how to debate lies. You call them lies.
During the second and thrid debates Obama called them lies and energized the base.

That is how you attack the lies, you call them lies and show why they are lies. You keep on kicking them until they stop.

... like the petulant children that they are.

But one thing will change I think. Obama will have finally gotten over his naive belief that he can work with them. And believe it or not, in the White House and congress there is more than one way to skin a cat.

The Dems are planning to run a serious candidate against him this time.

National Dems have already been eying potential candidates, like KY Secretary of State Allison Grimes. They reportedly approached her while in town during the Danville debate.

....to do to keep the US from falling off the fiscal cliff.

Additionally, they will be dealing with a President who will be in office for four more years and no longer has to worry about being polite to the GOP in order to get things done.

Look for long lines of baggers waiting their turn to get inside to stock up to drown their sorrow.

That is what I expect around here anyway.

As far as the Republicans in office, President Obama would have nothing to lose by just going around them by any legal means necessary.

making him a "one term" President will be moot. The President being concerned about re-election will be over.

Mitt winning means you could easily have a Senate interested in making him a "one term" President, and the battle continues.

The T-party is organized on insanity and will not change, except that all polls suggest there will be fewer of them.

The republicans will be busy for a while figuring out who made them lose a "winnable" election.

Republicans will not be much more willing to compromise, but all polls suggest that there will be fewer of them.

Obama can let them all expire. And then, the Dems will propose to reinstate only those for the middle class. And then they will DARE the Republicans to vote against those tax cuts.

Obama can't run again. Voters can't hold anything against him from here on out. He can propose all kinds of things that the people want, and then dare the GOP to go against it.

In addition, the economy is going to continue to improve. Obama will be able to point to that, and then claim that the GOP isn't helping him. The GOP will again be boxed in.

The GOP won't roll over, but they won't hold the same leverage that they had before.

The slimy thugs will turn to impeachment and, if they control the House, it will probably happen. But it will rebound against them.
