That he has been talking to 'elites' of both parties, and that the elites think that the President has it in the bag...that the leads are small but stable in the swing states and that going to PA or MN is, as we have said here in innumerable threads, a fools errand in the long run.
Ya gotta love that word: "elites"...Wow...it's tough for us here in the Proletariat.
You'd think he was "to the manor born". What a chump.

(6,996 posts)The President's command of the storm situation and Gov. Christie's effusive praise of him are a "one-two punch" they cannot compete with in the news coverage.

(63,912 posts)Joe who are bloviating for the reality of what he is seeing in the polls. He took them to task a couple of days ago and he keeps on insisting that we "sober" up and get real about what the polls are telling us: Obama will be reelected.

(6,160 posts)On a serious note, they did agree that not all the polls could be wrong. AND they said that these polls were BEFORE the President's response to Sandy.

(63,912 posts)I can't see the polls improving for Romney AFTER the storm. The experience of the storm and what is being done right now cuts the heart out of the Republican message of smaller government being "better." The political cartoons are picking this up this irony...I've seen several.

(94,571 posts)Political "elites" means professionals who's job it is to know the real political details rather than "pundits" or political activists who let their personal preferences color their opinions. Whats wrong with accurate terminology?

(2,795 posts)Seems like just yesterday the Repub elites were still telling him how they had all this momentum from the Independent voters going overwhelmingly for Romney (but then he had no answer when asked why the early voting in most states is so heavily Democratic and pro-Obama)
