Could there be a Republican Tsunami on Election Day?

With all the early voting coming from mostly Democrats could there be a Tsunami of Republican votes on election day?

I was considering voting early. My daughter is home on break because of the hurricane damage at Rutgers Univ. in NJ so she is going to vote early in MD with me on Friday since she has to be back at college by Monday. But I may hold off on my vote until the election day so offset the Republican tidal wave that day.

Here is an article I just came across where the Republicans are saying they are going to come out in force on election day and that the early voting by the Dems isn't going to work in our favor. Thoughts?

This is actually something I've been wondering about. I don't think it matters. A vote is a vote no matter what time. But there are probably strategies at play I'm not aware of.

No, this isn't troll baiting. Just something to consider since there seems to be alot of emphasis on voting early.

There is another storm I hear that could impact election day but haven't heard too much about it.

I hate how we look at where the article came from and instantly discredit it because that is a "right wing site"

I love how we find left leaning papers to speak the truth even though the right says they are not credible. And we say the same about right leaning papers.

NONE OF IT IS TRUE.. Or is it?

Not on foreign policy issues. But on most other issues they make an effort to report truthfully. This does not, of course, include opinion pieces.

CBS - leans left, but tries for the truth
ABC - leans right, but tries for the truth
NBC
MSNBC
CNN
New York Times
Chicago Tribune
etc

Then there are those that openly spin things. They often report the truth, but with tremendous spin. Other times they report their interpretation of the truth which can be just horrible (they're journalists after all; they went to college to get a degree in reading and writing). And some just outright lie.

FOX
Mother Jones
National Journal
Newsmax
Salon
99% of talk radio
Washington Times
NY Post
National Enquirer

I've got no doubts they'll try to flip votes in Ohio, and in Florida, and maybe a couple other states. But we may have one saving grace above all: North Carolina. Early voting totals there have well exceeded expectations and it's only getting better.

In fact the Republican Party has actually mailed out absentee ballots to every registered Republican in their districts. This has been going on for years and years and the Democrats are just now catching on. Now that the Democrats are doing it too the Republicans are getting scared... They have counted on the long lines and inconvenience to keep many Democrats away and they have been correct in that it has worked that way for some time now.. But NO MORE.... Democrats are determined and that scares the Republicans.. not just for this one Presidential election but from here on out....

to less affluent precincts and then making working people wait in line to vote due to broken machines. That is why Democrats want Democrats to vote early. It means you don't have to wait for a broken machine. Harder to manipulate the results or trick people out of the chance to vote.

According to Dick Morris on fOx news (who is fair and balanced and doesnt at all have
achip on this shoulder about Clinton firing him) the early voting leans towards the republicans
and its just the liberal media that is lying and come election day it will be a landslide, his
own personal polling is showing this.

insulting Lily Ponds by comparing them with such biologically useless parasites as Republicans.

Lily ponds demonstrate what Emerson said in his poem 'The Rhodora": "Tell them dear, if eyes were made for seeing\Then beauty is its own excuse for being."

No offense to parasites (at least the biologically useful variety) intended

Thu Nov 1, 2012, 12:32 PM

Democratic. If you think about populations that are more likely to vote Dem (AA, Hispanics, women), they are more likely to be employed in jobs which might make it difficult to vote on a Tuesday.

If you doubt the validity of this assertion, just consider all the (Republican) efforts to shut down or limit early voting. If they thought early voting benefited Republican leaning voters, you know they'd be expanding it like crazy.

So, the assumption is that early voting by Dems is not just a matter of "shifting" voters who would have voted on Election Day, but rather represents voters who wouldn't be able to vote on Election Day at all.
