Whew! What a ride!

Not too long ago we were pretty darn confident of an Obama win.

Then, The First Debate! All of a sudden the rug was yanked out from under us and Republicans actually saw a Romney they felt they could really get behind. Besides just hating Obama, they're telling themselves hey, I could feel good about voting for this (lying douchebag) guy!

Next, Joe stops the bleeding and we await the next meeting between O and Romney (and it was crazy because we kept saying -- and hearing -- that debates don't really matter, yet we saw the results of the first one).

Obama kicks ass at the next two debates.

We're gaining back lost ground.

Talk is about an EV vs PV win. We're still not 100% confident that either one could pull off both.

Romney continues to lie and gets called on it. Obama inches ahead (unless you believe Rasmussen).

The Sandy disaster strikes. Obama is who he is and does the right thing. He is the Commander in Chief, and people appreciate it.

Romney does some really fucking stupid things (even for Romney) and the press doesn't give him much leeway.

Obama is really rising! We're not looking at EV vs PV as much!

I feel like I've aged in dog years. And we've got six more days!

We've learned the hard way not to take anything for granted, but we're starting to feel a little giddy.

As a DUer posted, "Well, I sure don't think politics is boring anymore!"

What a great club we have here at DU.

Looking forward to the rest of this journey with all you wonderful, crazy people.

we will end the ride with a big smile on our faces.

Then it will start all over again as we support our President Obama in his quest to make this a better nation for all Americans.

the storm was a dupe, a plant, a lie by the Obama team (like the jobs report, unemployment rate dropping, etc.)

This has been too exhausting. I wonder if some day I'll look back and think I was too reactive, that maybe the media has exploited our emotions for ratings and I bought into it. Whether that is true or not, I am on pins and needles. When this is over I hope to make a conscious effort to go politcs-free for a day or two every week, maybe a whole week at a time. I recall there being pastimes other than politics, but they elude me right now.
