Question about Marine 1: Does it stow away on Air Force 1 when the President travels?

Just kind of curious. Or do they just name another Marine Helicopter Marine 1 when the President arrives? I don't know why but I just started wondering about that.

Also, did you know that the President has a taste-tester? I heard about that on the History Channel severa weeks ago.

And also, there's not one, but two of those custom 747s we know as Air Force One (though they only get that name when the POTUS is onboard.) The extra one is a spare, in case of a breakdown, and it carries extra staff, reporters who aren't cool enough to be on the plane with the POTUS, and scouts ahead to make sure AF1 itself doesn't get in trouble with bad weather.

"Marine One is the call sign of any United States Marine Corps aircraft carrying the President of the United States. It usually denotes a helicopter operated by the HMX-1 "Nighthawks" squadron, either the large VH-3D Sea King or the newer, smaller VH-60N "WhiteHawk". A Marine Corps aircraft carrying the Vice President has the call sign Marine Two."

The only time an aircraft gets the one designator is when POTUS is physically aboard and is only assigned to aircraft transporting the POTUS. Also the service is designated as per "Marine One", by the service in command of the aircraft I.E. Marine One, Air-force One, Army One, Navy One

It is whichever helicopter is carrying the President. The squadron HMX-1 has several helicopters with the Presidential design.
If practical, Marine 1 will fly to the destination ahead of Air Force 1 on its own. If the President will have need of the helicopter a long distance from the home base, the helicopter is flown in on a transport and prepped prior to the President's arrival.

he visited the Usingers Sausage Factory.

The Secret Service guys went across the street and bought brats. When asked if he wanted a brat Pres Obama said sure. So the White House chef went across the street and helped the cook make the brats.

The President was seen with one in each hand while driving away in the limo.
