“Trick or Aid” for Sandy Relief in Greenpoint

Folks in Chinatown, Downtown Brooklyn, Red Hook, the Lower East Side, Staten Island, and the Rockaways are badly in need of supplies. North Brooklyn was hit hard in places too, but since many of us retained power and stayed dry, we may have a lot of resources direly needed by others.

Also, it’s Halloween! So let’s go “trick or treating” for direly needed supplies. Wear your costumes — or don’t worry about it – but make sure to dress warm, it’s getting chilly out there! The Greenpoint party will meet in McGolrick Park at 6:30pm tonight to split up a map of our neighborhood and collect supplies in small groups.

We want to try to cover as much ground as as possible, so especially if you live in a relatively unaffected area, please take the initiative to start a Trick or Aid party in your neighborhood! Let us know if you plan on doing this, and we’ll post your event to this Tumblr – http://trickoraid.tumblr.com/ – to help coordinate collection parties throughout the city. We’re also working to establish drop-off points for folks to bring and then distribute supplies, so stay tuned for that.

It's a little late for a head's up; but a wonderful idea worth appreciating...
