Laura Mulholland, Minnesota Woman, Impales Chair With Bayonet, 'Lynches' It In Anti-Obama Display

A southwest Rochester woman said she doesn’t see any problem with a politically oriented display in her yard in which a chair is suspended from a tree by a noose, with a bayonet and rifle stuck in the side of the chair — a reference to President Obama.

“It’s been there for a month,” said Laura Mulholland on Tuesday when asked about the display outside her house at 3005 40th St. S.W. "I'm not sure why everyone is up in arms about it."

Mulholland said she and her husband, Kevin Mulholland, got the idea for displaying an empty chair after watching actor Clint Eastwood’s speech at the Republican National Convention, where he had an imaginary conversation with Obama.

Located on the old Fort Ord property. I played Black Horse as a soldier, Bayonet, thirty years later, as a civilian. Bayonet is a south-paw golfer's wet dream.

Beyond that, I ain't got nothing.

14. Is this Simply Racism at it's Worst?

The behavior of Americans embarasses me and saddens me.
A friend, actually two different people now, have said, "Linda,
it is simply racism." One is a black surgeon, a friend of my husband's, the other is a forum friend, a white school teacher from CA.
I thought we had moved beyond racism, sexism and other
types of petty discrimination decades ago, but I see that I
am naive and possibly living in a fantasy world.
At the same time, I am proud to have lived when a
wonderful man, an honest, intelligent problem-solver who loves our country,
has been president and he just happened to be partly AA.
His parents and grandparents gave him a wonderful legacy
of caring, education and work ethics that would have been lauded
with wonder and celebration in the perfect world.
At the same time, I hope that Barack Obama knows how much we have appreciated his foolhardy choice to take on the challenge that Bush left, the destruction of our country, our economy and the thriving corruption in
high places.
I am honored to have been able to vote for Obama twice.

When I was an art student we did pieces like this.

My sculpture project involved a chair too. But my sculpture was a wooden school chair with a tree growing out of it. Hanging from one of the branches was a child's swing and I welded a simple wire frame kid onto the swing. I got an A.

My critique of this particular piece shows a demented individual who has a slight tendency towards violence. My first thought is since the setting is in the country this is a piece that shows the artist doesn't like Scandinavian furniture.

The woman is crying for attention on social media. Perhaps the local authorities should be made aware if there are children in reach of an old gun, a noose and a long knife in the families only big tree.

Happy to report he was forced by the neighbors to take it down and then got a surprise visit from the Secret Service. He said it got to be "mentally exhausting" with the harrasment he was receiving. I think he has long been mentally exhausted but that is just my opinion. This country is finally unraveling.
