The Average Republican Approves Of Lying If It Helps Them Win

Don't for a second believe that Rmoney's lying being exposed and called out by the heads of both Chrysler and GM (fer Chriss sake!) will mean a damn thing to the average R. They KNOW Rmoney is lying, and they really don't care. All they care about is winning.

When I lived in NJ, I had conversations with my Republic neighbors. They were quite open about the fact that all they cared about was that their candidate "knew how to get it done." If that meant lying "to get it done," so be it. I had one guy tell me that he ADMIRED the fact that an R would lie if it meant winning. He admired the fact that they knew how to get around "the rules." He admired the fact that the could "get away with things." His words, verbatim.

I've had more than one R tell me that Ds are spineless because they don't believe in their cause enough to lie for their cause if needs must.

It lets you know how Rmoney can so brazenly lie about everything and remain unfazed. His supporters know he's lying, and it doesn't bother them. In fact, they find it admirable.

Even if that means the refs blew a call and the entire world knows they blew a call, they'll happily take the victory "any way we can."

grates on my nerves. I keep want to scream at the idiots, "This isn't football, where you stick by the Cowboys even when they're being hauled off one by one in handcuffs! When these people get hauled off in handcuffs, YOU'RE the victim!" Dumbasses.

give them all the guns they want
let them listen to all the religious sermons they want-- from all religions
separate areas for men and women -- because they do not like women

that is a dream I once or twice had

there's still a large body of Americans who disagree with lying to promote an agenda, who don't believe the ends always justify the means, who think character matters even for a politician.

keep reaching out to these people, the threads from which a strong democracy is woven.

I'm sure many repubs are fine and dandy with all the voter suppression, voter intimidation, voter registration fraud. If it means winning so they can have their weird conservative religious crusade unleashed on America, it's all for a good cause. Lying, cheating, stealing to them is all for the greater good.

It's really fucked up.

one way or another what Jesus would do. That is sad. I'm an atheist and I think I care more about what Jesus would do than they do. They want their dogma and their demigod in control so they can get on with destroying the planet to get to heaven.

You see, that is the thinking... they don't have any desire to make this place better. These fundamentalists think their reward is after they die, so the only thing that matters is doing what some guy says their God wants. They have a death wish, not a dream for the future of this place, our world.

I don't see it that way. I want a better world, now. I want the human race to live in peace... now! The Jesus story has many excellent examples that we all could learn from, especially those republican teabag fundies who have no idea what they are talking about.

I've heard the same things you have.

They lie amongst themselves, too. For example, you know all those idiotic e-mails that get sent around? You know what a RWer does when he gets one of those that he knows is false? He sends it out to everyone anyway.

I swear the most surreal thing I ever saw in my life was my parents and some of their friends sitting around a table and swapping "Obama is evil" stories. It struck me that while they all probably do believe that Obama is evil, not a single one of those people believed the ridiculous stories they were telling. They were all pretending for the benefit of the others. It was fucking insane.

If you think that Democrats are Polly Pureheart that never, ever lie, you are sadly mistaken. I've seen far too many races in which the Democrat like their ass off to get elected.
