I shudder to think of what would be happening if Mitt Romney were president right now.

There wouldn't be a FEMA. He'd be on TeeVee telling people to donate canned goods, smiling his sick twisted smile, and refusing to talk to the press. There wouldn't be firemen and national guard to rescue people. The storm's aftermath would not get cleaned up, the states wouldn't be able to do it because they'd be broke. It would be hell, and a whole lot more people would be dead.

He'd be Bush during Katrina x 1 gazillion.

If he's already president, he won't feel a need for a photo op or to tell us anything at all.

Romney could batch sign them, or have someone else do it. He will elminate government by selling all of the functions to corporations. If those effected aren't good for the profit margin, they get nothing.

He can privatize the military and go and make the world safe for corporate profits. The EXXON army could march in and kill people and take their land and resources. Why bother with middle men and all those pesky rules?

The natural parks could be sold to his friends. The schools won't be necessary, half the workforce will be barefoot and pregnant. People will learn their new place in his world.

Healthcare won't be provided, nor public safety maintained. Pollution will be in the area the rich don't live in. Those folks will be expendable. The sick, disabled and elderly can die if their families can't take care of them.

Those who refuse to the Morman church will be shunned and not given any help or work. He could travel the world and preach he's the Second Coming or whatever. I don't see him as a hands-on president at all.

The presidency in the coming years if he gets into office will be othing but a CEO in a larger enterprise. The government will have no meaning, we will pay for all we need to the big frogs. There will be no need for voting. If you think I'm being too extreme, fine. But when the power is completely in the hands fo the oligarches and kings, what did they do? Did they ever ask anyone's opinion on war, taxes, laws?

We can win this one or watch the USA be dissolved. And if we do win this one, it won't be over until say 2030 with a full generational push to hold them back. They aren't going to stop what they've been planning. JMHO.

Your scenario is exactly what they want and if we don't stop them, it's exactly where we're headed. You went further than me but I agree with you; there would be no reason to continue to pretend we're a democracy.

endorsement of Romney back. The DMR is looking like a damned foolish newspaper right now. In particular because for the last two years minimum, it has been abundantly clear that President Obama stand head and shoulders above Mitt Romney when it comes to across the board leadership. Some people, like those at the DMR, buy into the magic idea that things will just instantly get better if Romney is elected, but Romney's performance under pressure says clearly that is not the case, the best and surest path forward is to re-elect President Obama.
