A Bush spokesman confirmed on Saturday the former first lady’s campaign appearance, first reported by The Detroit News, but declined to comment further.

But Kelsey Knight, a Michigan spokeswoman for the Romney campaign, told the Detroit paper that Laura Bush will attend a volunteer appreciation event at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at a banquet hall in the Detroit suburb of Livonia.

“Having Mrs. Bush in Livonia will just fuel the fire and the momentum we are seeing,” Knight said on Friday.

I mean, W did say that he would have gone to war in Iraq even if Barney (his dog) and Laura were the only ones supporting him.

To me this means that she could have stopped it by not supporting him.
