Voters lined up outside the Stephen P. Clark Center to cast their ballots Saturday morning.
A large crowd gathered on the first day of early voting in Florida. A rally was held outside the polling site before the precinct opened. The event was headlined by Civil Rights Activist the Rev. Al Sharpton.
Organizers said they not only want to motivate people to vote early, but also to protest a shortened early voting period. The state legislature reduced it from 14 days to 8 this year.
"I'm going to tour all day today... We are determined to fight for our voting rights. No matter for who people vote for," said. Rev. Sharpton.
The rally is part of a nationwide campaign aimed at raising awareness about voter suppression.

Really liked the reporter in the end saying paraphrased here "He's never seen anything like it" ... referring to the number of early voters at the polls. And the enthusiasm ...
