By Christopher Rowland, Globe Staff

Mitt Romney embarked on a swing of Florida Saturday by pledging to work in bipartisan fashion with Democrats and by seeking to demonstrate that he has empathy for families who are struggling economically.

To a remarkable degree, Romney in the home stretch of the 2012 campaign is sounding like President Obama during the 2008 race. In emotional terms during a stop in Pensacola, he expressed his connection to the economically disadvantaged.

``I think of single moms today who are scrimping and saving to have a good meal on the table,’’ Romney said.

He followed that up with an image of couples deciding not to exchange Christmas gifts, so that their children could have something under the tree.

Because whatever he proposes will drastically hurt single mothers and their children. His "story" is pretty much a way of life for those of us who were/are single parents. I gave blood until I passed out one year so I could get my daughter a birthday present. But he really doesn't have a clue about us regular people, does he?

...widely considered the next runner-up behind "Plan Nine From Outer Space" as the worst movie of all time.

It was a low-budget movie, and they had a gorilla suit with no head and a deep sea diver's mask, so they decided to put the two together and that became the "monster" of the film, the "Ro-Man" (half robot, half man).

And in one of the best lines of the film, this half-robot, half-man discovers he has "feelings" for one of the leading ladies in the film, and mourns "To be like the HU-man...not the RO-man..."

And that's Mitt Romney. In a nutshell.

He was born into wealth, he rode his little bike around Paris while other Americans his age were getting blown to bits in Vietnam, and he has a wife who likes to talk about how they "struggled" during his college years by selling off his stock options in order to "survive."

I cannot wait to send this man, and his whole miserable family, back to the mansion...permanently.

Now he wants to work for single moms. All of this while running a nasty campaign against the kid of a single mom. If he truly wants to help single moms he should concede the election.

"I worry about putting food on my table (????)." "I worry about my kids future under Obama (???)".

THOSE single mothers? That Romney commerical makes me want to throw something at the TV.

I totally forgot he was even in the state. Who in their right mind schedules a rally in FL on the same day as the UF vs GA game. Maybe thats why he snook into the state today to avoid questions.

Now on Monday the real Presidents, our current and soon to be re-elected President Obama and former President Clinton will be in Central FL. People won't forget this visit.
