Obama hits Romney on Wall Street, Medicare, education

NASHUA, N.H. - President Barack Obama's re-election campaign released a harsh new ad Saturday that accuses Republican rival Mitt Romney of looking to roll back regulations on Wall Street, turn Medicare into a voucher system, and slash education funding. The 30-second ad cast the incumbent in a defensive light -- someone fighting to hold onto cherished programs, not to propose new reforms.

Romney's campaign hit back, with spokeswoman Amanda Henneberg saying "we can't afford four more years like the last four" and predicting that voters would pick Romney's "positive agenda over President Obama's increasingly desperate attacks."

The Obama commercial, set to run in Florida, Iowa, Ohio, and Virginia, distills Obama's main argument for re-election: That the former Massachusetts governor will gut programs that help the middle class in favor of wealthy Americans and big banks.

"Mitt Romney's plan rolls back regulations on the banks that crashed our economy. Medicare, voucherized. Catastrophic cuts to education. Millionaires will get one of the largest tax cuts ever. While middle class families pay more. That's what Mitt Romney wants to bring here. Remember that when you go here."

& pivot to clip of Myth & Bush both saying they'll cut taxes in primary but denying it at debates Oct 3, 2000 7 Oct 3, 2012. That would show he's a liar with Bush plans.

I hope the most effective part of this ad is the opening context: "It's just you..."

Not only does it say forget about all the advertising and hype but remember, this is private. You can say anything you want about what you're going to do in the voting both and you can say anything you want about what you did in the voting booth...either way, the box you check is private.

I'd like to think there are more than a few Rmoney supporters on the soft edge that are there because of peer pressure of the believe that their friends will think less of them if they vote for Obama. They can be influenced and this ad speaks to them. To those people this ad says "Say anything you want in public, act however you want...but when it counts, in private, remember these facts and make your decision".

Great message to the swing voters to remind them they may need to look red in public for whatever reason (and we're not here to judge that) but they can be blue in private.

That is all (gotta get me a fun signature line, eh?)

Hit him on the ECONOMY and his record in Mass. Mr. President. 47th in job creation etc.

There is no reason why the majority of Americans, in recent polls should view Romney as "stronger" on the economy.
