If they can get us top believe that it is only 3% average between Obama and the Robot then when the republicans attempt to steal this election like they did in Florida and Ohio. You know they are going to try and steal it if they can get America to believ this is a close race and the PEOPLE will let them, we have become politically lazy in this country and we rely on POLLS and ENDORSEMENTS to make up our mind.
Most here on the DU are very well informed...that is my comfort.

(15,438 posts)I am now slowly coming to the painful fact that corporate media is going to help Robot to win the election by giving the GOP the excuse they need to steal since "the election is so close".
There is NO OTHER reason for corporate media and commercial polls to show that this is neck-and-neck other than to cover their arses should the GOP succeed in stealing another election so they can install a couple more Roberts and Scalitos on the SCOTUS. Because this is why they're doing everything they possibly can to make President Obama a one-term president. With 1-4 seats in SCOTUS in the balance, they can't afford to have more Kagans and Sotomayors or Roberts, and corporate American, will lose this very important power.

(15,438 posts)is my post, as an addendum to my post above, that explains how poorly commercial polls are polling Latinos:

There has to be a reason why, and the only viable reason is, they're banking on the GOP successfully stealing another election.

(106 posts)As long as you are raising big bucks, you will not stop. Money is being parked with down ballot and "independent" pacs for later races. Fortunately many DUs know this is the time for GOTV GOTV, the only thing we can control are real votes and eyes on the election process. By the way, 3% is a decent win, 5% is a landslide.

(35,392 posts)Media keeps hyping the "close race" between Obama and Romney.
It turns out to be bogus, Obama easily wins (but not a "landslide" .
Corporate media suddenly starts having every nutjob on the (aptly-named boob) tube saying that the polls couldn't have been THAT WRONG (despite the fact that RWers often say they say they're voting for Obama to gimmick the polls) and that Obama himself had rigged the election in a coup.
