and admit he's a Democrat lol. Watching him squirm and get flustered trying to stick up for republicans with prepared talking talk points is quite laughable. The expression on his says "I can't believe I'm saying this shit" lol

(3,030 posts)He didn't even get flustered, just wouldn't say very much.

(223 posts)of color could stand by and participate in the racism the Pugs do. If he disagreed with most every piece of policy of Dems, he has turned but for one piece he does agree with, his right to exist.

(23,664 posts)He was obviously uncomfortable with having to defend the republican line on abortion and Maher and the rest of the panel wouldn't let him off the hook.

(8,492 posts)I figure since they ousted him they're worried that he'll release all the dirt he has on them. He has way too much fun with Rachel, too. As Republicans go, he can be pretty funny.

(216 posts)he was, in effect, hired to do a very specific job...and he did it well (2010)
but how many times did he get in trouble for not towing the party line? particularly on social issues. it's like he would forget his lines sometimes.
I never thought he was a true believer. he's playing a role for $$

(693 posts)He actually seems like a decent guy. No wonder he didn't last long as RNC chair. Maybe he'll switch sides after this election.

(8,968 posts)When he has to defend Republican positions he doesn't have his heart in it, lacks confidence, and often gets irritable in the process. I recall that he wasn't always this way. As a castoff moderate, his party's overt racism and dog whistle messaging must be having an impact. Give him time, he just might pull a switcheroo.

(25,029 posts)I'm sure it is possible for a Democrat but there are far fewer openings and those that exist are probably less lucrative, on the whole.
They have loads of pure grifter no-nothings, touring, selling books, and doing "leadership" conferences racking up the millions.
Mike probably hasn't worked 30 hours that hasn't included a meal, bullshitting, and a drink in hand in a long while.
