No pics, but ditto the ones already pictured around the nation. I'm in a D.C suburb in Md., a relatively safe Democratic state (two Bush votes) and I'm pretty confident that this is an overwhelmingly Democratic crowd. The Romney campaign just doesn't have an early voting organization (or one at all) here, and I've NEVER seen as many folks lined up to vote as I just saw outside the voting center! I don't know what I expected, but I guess my surprise and delight say it all. What a great state! What a fantastic campaign! Go Maryland! Go Democrats! Go Question 6!

Have to be @ work too early to vote before work and I watch my granddaughter for a few hours after work. They say if you get in line before 8 they can't turn you away so my vote will be late but there!
. . . thanks for hanging in there, Freddie! Sucks they have to make it so hard for you to get your vote in.

(16,926 posts)The story on the news two days prior was that the crowds were overwhelming, but there were only a couple of voters there besides me. The volunteer laughed and said I'd lucked out.

(7,290 posts)It will always go Democratic - waste of time, money and effort for any Republican to even bother with it.

So no, Bush didn't win MD twice.

(86,005 posts)that's what I remember. So, just the one. Still makes my point. it may well be a Democratic state, but it also voted for Reagan over Mondale.

(33,497 posts)what it tells us is that maybe Dems do have a great deal more enthusiasm than the pollsters give us credit for. So this is actually very good news and not to be pooh-poohed.

(7,290 posts)I was simply responding to the comment that the Republicans have no strategy against early voting in Maryland, and I still say why would they? They know they can't win Maryland, why waste resources there?
If you're going to comment on what I write, you might want to take the time to actually read it first.
WI_DEM
(33,497 posts)why would they waste money and time doing it just like the GOP? I did read what you wrote. I still think you were pooh-poohing a good thread about early voting in Maryland. It shows the Dems have enthusiasm if nothing else.
SickOfTheOnePct
(7,290 posts)I don't see it as a strategy for either party. I see it as a way to make voting easier for everyone, regardless of whom they're voting for.
And what you THINK I meant is irrelevant, since I KNOW what I meant.
