The electoral college is such a shame! Voting for Obama today in Kansas.....

And while I love voting democratic for Kansas candidates. It is such a shame this dam electoral college decides the national election.
How nice would it be not to have these swing state polls dominating the news.
How nice would it be if every state mattered and the candidates had to campaign to all the states?
I am sick of polls and candidates only visiting swing states.

I disagree. I think they would need to make it more of a national campaign. Logical Oct 2012 #3

That is just crazy.

It would take ten times as many trips and speeches and rallies and ads in ten times as many markets to get to the same number of votes.

It would also take policies that will be voted for by the low population state's voters.

It doesn't make any sense at all.

The reason we have an electoral collage is because it was considered to be more fair than a popular vote system. What if a Presidential candidate decided to ship all the garbage from the high population areas into the rural areas to dump it? You would get a large number of votes from the high population areas and the low population areas would be screwed.

It isn't more fair. It is the domination of the minority by the majority and that is exactly what we should be fighting against.

Today the President is in NH.

Without the EC they would be working on the major metropolitan areas the last 30 days.

debates are televised nationally.

Besides that

1. Obama visited Osawatomie
2. Bush visited Manhattan and KCMO
3. Edwards visited Lawrence in 2004

It's not like we are completely out of it, especially in Eastern Kansas

Then there's Washington Days, both Obama and Clinton have spoken there. True, Clinton after he was out of office and Obama in about 2006.
