Update, Oct. 21: Fundraising numbers for the month of September show Obama continuing to dominate when it comes to contributions from the military. The new data, which came in after the story below was published Oct. 15, show he raised $142,197, just a shade less than he collected in August, his strongest month with this set of donors. Romney brought in $111,015 for his best month ever with military donors, but that was still 22 percent less than Obama received.
The new numbers bring Obama's total from military donors to $678,611, and Romney's to $398,450.

(312 posts)When you complete the job promised and abandoned by your predecessor.
When stay true to your principals not go all over the map or misidentify the bodies of water around the nation you claim is the greatest threat to our nation like your opponent.
When you end a futile war and begin winding down the other one. The military and their families cannot help but feel grateful. Thank you Commander and Chief, from my uncles, my cousins, and their families. Here's to another 4 years with a steady, proven, effective leader.

In 2007, Ryan voted against legislation that provided critical funding for veterans health care, including funds to enhance medical services for active duty forces, mobilized personnel and their family members and $1.7 billion for veterans health care priorities including maintenance at VA health care facilities like Walter Reed.

(31,399 posts)We have a huge number of active and retired military in the state--which is one reason, I believe, our
unaffiliated voter registration numbers are so high. Military don't want their superiors knowing their
voter registration.
Michelle and Jill have made working on behalf of military families one of their major
causes. Military families know it--and appreciate it. It's going to translate to votes.
I'd bet on it.

(51,076 posts)I'd like to see how many people contributed to each rather than how much money they receive.
Anyone who gives is going to vote for the person they gave too so I don't think the numbers are in rMoneys favor even as much as this says. Captains and commanders are flush with cash in comparison to the troops so they'll give a hundred bucks where the troops might give twenty.
We see the same thing with the numbers of civilian contributers to Obama compared to rMoney
