I think President Obama is completely open in public only with kids and Bo. Don't blame him.
He seems to let go and meld emotionally with them. It's spontaneous from both sides. Each recognizes a kindred spirit of some kind.

I truly beleive that. Their little bullshit radar is very acute and they know a bad man from a good man. Over the last 4 years I've seen many pics of Obama with kids, and the majority all seem to take right to him. That's because they trust him! He gives that vibe off and they know.
Don't see many republicans with pictures like that. It's because the kids know that they are "bad" people. Seriously.
The measure of the man, is measured by kids.

Among the pics in "A Singular Woman" there is a pic of him at about 10-12 yrs kissing baby Maya's hand. You can tell he really loves kids!

I know it's sexist of me but I just melt for a guy who's good with babies and little kids. I think it's because even these days it's considered optional for men to do half of the heavy lifting of parenting (huge props to the guys who do it!) and I love a man who loves the babies. It says very good things about him.

It hurts me to think of the people who disrespect him and who hate him.

He doesn't deserve any of the horrible treatment he's put up with. And he just faces it and smiles that great smile of his.
