On bullshit: the origins of character

(Voiceover. Rod Serling begins this episode of "The Twilight Zone" another one of his typically astounding, darkly Kafkaesque questions...)

"What if you were to awake one morning in late October during an election year, only to find that one of the candidates had been replaced by an android that had been programmed to respond immediately to blend in with any crowd's basic emotional palette, like some sinister version of the Wizard of Oz? A giant floating mask that alters its appearance so anyone under its gaze, whether in the audience or viewing their television screens was comforted by an image of themselves?
You have just entered... the Twilight Zone."

At first it seemed impossible to believe. A rational mind just cannot handle it. To understand what we have been confronted with for the past few months, we must carefully examine the context, the big picture, but not for clues. We are looking for a pattern. The gestalt. We have plenty of info but in the interests of time, let's cut to the chase.

Malicious humor has been the one constant in the biography of W. Mitt Romney. From the very earliest accounts of his life, until the present day, we have been provided with ample evidence that his chief joy in this life is exercising a malicious impulsive urge to humiliate and dominate others with no restraint, excusing it as "humor." Bleak.
This is his basic character. His achievements, his exploits and titles are constructs he developed to disguise the simple fact that he is nothing more than a bully who is covering up his fear. Secrets are always hidden in the open.

Bain Capital was just a profitable example of the glee with which Mr. Romney pulls the chair out from under his victims. His campaign makes no sense until it is placed in this context. The joke is on all of us and he intends to enjoy our pain.

Subliminally, all of us are deeply uncomfortable.
We should be. This is a transcendental threat to our collective sanity and well being. Rail at the
evils of corporate media, the Republican Party,
big money, etc. ad nauseam and nothing will come of it. Nothing will change until enough of us realize these are machines, mechanisms made of people who haven't realized they have been made into automatons. Possibly some of them are aware of the truth but choose to be willfully ignorant of the consequences. There will be no consequences if there is no country left after this is over.

We are not fighting for one man's victory. We are fighting to be able to defend and maintain the Constitution of the United States, through and by which we are entitled to continue governing our- selves, defend our liberties and enjoy our God- given rights. These are the entitlements those self-anointed elites believe are exclusively theirs. Let me emphasize this in reply. That is bullshit.

Make no mistake, Mr. Romney. We are serious.
Our lives are at stake. Our futures and the future of the country are hanging in the balance of those scales of justice that are being upheld by blind Justice. We the people will prevail.
