because I know he is the father of two daughters and a Marine Veteran, that "I love Barack Obama because he made it possible for your daughters to get equal pay equal work, and they didn't have that guarantee before, and that, despite those trying to claim "it was all Seal Team Six", REAL COMBAT VETERANS know where the buck stops. Just ask Admiral McRaven. Osama ben Laden is dead because BARACK OABMA was at the helm. That's why I love him."
Do you want to know what he said?
"Laydeebug, I love you and I love my country, but leave my daughters out of this".
It's the first barb I've been in, in a long while where I didn't get too excited, 'hopped up' and upset.
Another of his friends posted that, "Obama failed" I responded, "No, he didn't"
Game. set. match. Hahahaha Now to make lunch, hand mill some laundry soap and mow the lawn.

Why does support always have to be equated with some kind of extreme? I guess they are just looking in the mirror.

This was a really rabid rightie who seems to be softening.

(552 posts)How about this for a response:
I can leave your daughters out of this, but the President doesn't. He is a president for your daughters, and he doesn't discriminate if they are Republican or Democrat, if they are black or white, if they are rich or poor, if they are American-born or not. He fights for everyone, not just the 1% and that is why I love him! He fights for justice and equality for all, not just for the 1% and that's why I love him!

(10,291 posts)STAND UP TO THEM. With responses like you just gave, it is very clear you are every bit capable.
This was inspiring, btw. Really.

(1,831 posts)Many "conservatives" have an emotional response to President Obama?
Rather than a measured, considered, rational decision for what's best for our nation?
It's all well and good that we can agree with many of the emotionally based choices that BO has made.
But in the final analysis, it's what plots the course for our future.

(14,557 posts)their minds that we admire someone because they can set an example on how
you can be a better citizen, neighbor and family member by actually doing
what is needed to advance each other's lives.
They are saddled with someone they don't like and who stands for very little good as a citizen,
a neighbor or a loved one.
They can not reconcile their stupid, horrible man with what they were hoping for so they
turn to us hoping we will say something about our President Obama that sounds even a tiny bit
like how they really feel about their candidate.
When we don't lower the dialog to their level they become confused and assume we must be in 'love' with
President Obama...when it is actually a real admiration for the man.
