Milwaukee CEO Warns Employees Of ‘Personal Consequences’ If Obama Is Re-Elected

Isn't it time to make this corporate bullying illegal yet?

There is a wave of corporate intimidation going on across the country, where CEOs are telling their employees not to vote for President Obama or other Democrats.

Take this example from Milwaukee today:

Mike White, the chairman and owner of Rite-Hite, a major Milwaukee manufacturer of industrial equipment, told employees in an email this week that all employees “should understand the personal consequences to them of having our tax rates increase dramatically if President Obama is re-elected, forcing taxpayers to fund President Obama’s future deficits and social programs (including Obamacare), which require bigger government.”

The email stunned some employees. One employee said he felt threatened by the email. “It’s a good company, but for this to come out, it’s absurd,” the employee said.

THIS sort of bullshit is the "slippery slope" that eventually leads to Corporate America deciding our vote FOR us! Rather than "worrying about sliding into 'Soshulism'", maybe we should be more vigilant of a kinder, gentler neo-Fascism instead?

They're PISSED that there aren't enough of them to get their way. They're INFURIATED that they can't just outright and blatantly BUY the White House. They're supremely ANGRY that they can't use the military to just take over in a coup, like they tried to in the 30s.

This is completely legal. Employers have so little restrictions on what they can do to employees in the U.S.

http://thinkprogress.org/election/2012/10/25/1087151/anti-obama-business-group-will-teach-employers-how-to-prepare-your-employees-for-election
The National Federation of Independent Business is offering a seminar next week called “How to Speak With Your Employees About The Importance of the 2012 Elections,” for business owners who haven’t already tried to pressure employees into voting for their preferred candidate. The NFIB, officially nonpartisan, is a notoriously conservative organization that has donated millions to Karl Rove’s American Crossroads GPS Super PAC.
The 2-hour session will be held October 30 in Torrington, CT. The event description says:
Join other business owners and key personnel for an evening of networking and refreshments as part of NFIB’s continuing effort to ensure business owners have the resources to grow their business. Gather at West State Mechanical in Torrington and learn what you can do to prepare your employees for the crucial upcoming election.

They're teaching them how to "prepare" their employees, as if we're roast chickens or something. That wording says a lot about their attitude towards workers.

CEO's can hem and haw all they want. They can't make you vote for anyone and they sure have no idea who you vote for so they can blather all they want.

I actually think this is a good thing for Obama. I know very few people who think highly of their bosses and their "opinions".

Of course, that patronizing attitude may be what causes the whole thing to backfire on the employers.

as an excuse to deny wage and benefit increases.

No, the boss can't watch you vote but can make life difficult for employees while blaming someone else.

It's just a nasty attitude to have to tolerate as an employee.

Most people hate their boss and their company, and voting for something they don't want is a good way to stick it to them. Still, when you know your boss or company is vindictive.....

But then you have people who don't really vote that suddenly feel compelled to do so by these jackholes.

Any idiot in business in the past 4 years KNOWS that their business has gotten better, unless they suck at business.

Orders are up, mfg is up, spending is up, consumer confidence is up, housing starts are way up, etc. etc. etc.

These asshole republicans are either the worst fucking business people EVER, or are only concerned about THEIR personal bottom line. Because Bush ran the country into the ground.

These letter BACKFIRE.. as the employees do NOT want to be told what to do. They will not vote for Romney, they will vote to spite their asshole bosses. This actually makes it worse. These people are not children, and you cannot tell them what to do.

I will smile to your face and agree. I will lie to your face as well as you do to mine.

Then in the privacy of the voting booth, I will vote opposite of what you ask.

Every time.

Why?

"Because you wish it".

Kruge: No.
