Apology?
Honest question: What would a genuine Richard Mourdock apology for his debate remarks about rape pregnancies look like?
Im not being arch.
Short of recanting his opposition to a rape exception for abortion bans a position shared by many Republicans, including the vice presidential nominee what could Mourdock say that would count as an apology for John McCain and others on both sides of the aisle who are demanding one?

McCain Accepts Mourdocks Apology
An aide for Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said Thursday he hadn't seen Indiana Senate candidate Richard Mourdock's press conference when McCain told CNN Wednesday that Mourdock had to apologize for his statement about rape, conception and God's will in order to keep McCain's endorsement.
Senator McCain was traveling yesterday in Florida and did not have an opportunity to see Mr. Mourdocks full press conference before he taped his CNN interview," McCain spokesperson Brian Rogers said. "Senator McCain is glad that Mr. Mourdock apologized to the people of Indiana and clarified his previous statement. Senator McCain hopes the people of Indiana will elect Mr. Mourdock to the U.S. Senate."
At his Wendesday press conference, Mourdock stood by his words and accused his oppoents of "twisting" them. He said he was sorry if people had misinterpreted them the wrong way.

Well, McCain's acceptance of Mourdock's bogus apology keeps the story alive and exposes McCain as a hack.
Mourdock's mess not just a one-day story

Republicans love a good non-apology apology.

The only thing he's sorry about is that it might cost him some votes.

Not "sorry I got caught" "I regret that you were offended" or "inelegant words".
