(914 posts)1. For VA, I believe they would get a provisional ballot
but if it turns out they didn't get registered as they thought they had (if their registration form was tossed in a dumpster for example), the ballot might not ultimately get counted. People who registered recently can check their status here: http://www.sbe.virginia.gov/VoterInformation.html

...aren't counted unless the race is very close. I would assume they would count them if down ballot races are close. In any event, I think that's really bad policy.

(14,731 posts)4. Perhaps we should insist/ ask for copies of the registration forms
or some type of receipt once we turn the forms over to a third party or before mailing them.
