Md. pastor has harsh words for gays, their supporters

A Randallstown pastor had harsh words for gays and supporters of same-sex marriage at a recent town hall meeting, saying those who vote yes on Question 6 are approving "things that are worthy of death."

The pastor, Robert J. Anderson of the Colonial Baptist Church in Randallstown, was sitting on a dais with Derek McCoy, executive director of the Maryland Marriage Alliance, when he made the comments.

Anderson read from a portion of the Bible that refers to homosexuality. "Those who practice such things are deserving of death," Anderson said, reading from the Bible.

Then he pivoted to the Nov. 6 referendum and said: "If we don’t vote against it we are approving of these things that are worthy of death." Separately, he also said approving same-sex marriage could "open up a back door" to legalizing prostitution, incest and bestiality.... MORE

I wonder if he is advocating the Maryland legislature enact legislation that will provide for the stoning to death of an adulterous woman? Has he slept with his wife when she was unclean? Did he wait 7 days after her "time" and ensure she had undergone purification before he had sex with her? If you don't they are abominations.

I remember seeing something in the range of a 5 to 10 point lead on that, a couple of weeks ago. So there is that.

I'm from MD, and my feeling about public sentiment in general, is that people are ready to get this done, and I think it will happen.

edit: I wasn't very clear. Marriage equality passed the legislature and was put on the ballot for a vote as Question 6. That's what this "debate" and article was about.

The Bible allows and encourages slavery. Says wearing blended fabrics is worthy of death, as is raising carrots and radishes in the same garden.
When will the 'faith community' stand up and tell these leaders of theirs to cease the hate speech and the lies? When will they ask him if he also thinks we should stone bratty kids to death? Why don't they ask him if he supports enacting the slavery laws in the Bible, which allow one to sell one's daughter for profit? Why do they stand aside and allow this repeated libel to be sold with lies in the name of that which they call divine? Who ARE these people? Calling for death to their neighbors based on a book they themselves simply do not follow. Disgusting does not begin to describe these people, these ministers and their flocks who call for murder.
They make terrorist threats, and they should be in jail for that. Also, that minister wears poly/cotton blends, and thus he must be executed. Abomination!!!!!!
