Lost in the Mourdock uproar: Joe Donnelly is anti-choice

OK, he's not as extreme as Mourdock but he's still a creep. Yes, I'd rather he won than Mourdock, but it's still close to a Hobson's choice. And yes, I know it's Indiana. And it's not only reproductive rights: He's anti-immigrant- voted against the Dream Act, for "securing borders". On national defense, he votes with the conservatives almost all the time. He's against getting out of Afghanistan.
He voted against repealing DADT. About the only thing he's not absolutely horrible on is health care.

Donnelly is morally opposed to abortion, and is trying to make adoption more accessible to families.[87] On the issue of abortion Donnely said “As a pro-life congressman, I am committed to protecting life at all stages.” [88] In 2011, he co-sponsored HR 3, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act.[89] The bill contained an exception for "forcible rape," which opponents criticized as potentially excluding drug-facilitated rape, date rape, and other forms of rape.[90] The bill also allowed an exception for minors who are victims of incest.[89]

In 2011 Donnelly received a 20% rating from pro-choice political action group NARAL.[91] Before 2011, Donnelly had consistently received a 0% rating every year from NARAL during his time in the House.[92][93][94] Donnelly has received high scores with the pro-life group National Right to Life Committee, never receiving a lower than under 70% rating.[95][96][97]

Evan Bayh was right-center and about as far left as you are going to get in Indiana. The big picture is an R senate seat may now become a D. Thank you Indiana Tea Party.

So that begs the question, why in the hell is he running as a Democrat?? No wonder that Republican woman who contributes to MSNBC shows, hopes Mourdoch doesn't win. She's more than happy with the DINO in Donnelly who will, no doubt, be another Ben Nelsen and in that position, can make his portfolio FAT with pork and paybacks by the GOP to obstruct everything from the inside-out. Because that's what he plans to do IF he wins.

What the hell is wrong with Indianans??

Hoosiers are hardworking, honest, and polite. They are also a bunch of racist, knuckle-dragging morons who seem to delight in voting against their own interests. They are also far too docile toward employers, since this is a right-to-work state.Indianapolis is a blue dot in a sea of red, and the rest of the state might as well be Mississippi or Alabama.

Not that I wouldn't prefer him to Mourdock, but there are plenty of other races to invest in.

God I'd love to vote for Joe Donnelly. He may not be much but he's heads above what some of us are faced with.

Its no secret that Donnelly is anti-choice. Is your point that we'd better off with Mourdock in the Senate and one less vote for a Democratic majority? If there was a better choice than Donnelly on the ballot, that would be one thing. But if the choice is Donnelly v. Murdouck, its a no-brainer for me as to who we should want to win that election.
