But when it was all that was left after the orgy of chocolate themed candy, I dug in to get that sugar high back up there...

Made by Boyer Candy near Reading, PA. Yum!! Try Vermont Country Store or Hometown Favorites for hard-to-find candy.
FYI--they make Bonomo Turkish Taffy again!

I always buy several bags, plus some candy bars for the kids, but here's the important part: the candy MUST BE THOROUGHLY TESTED! Sorry to yell about it, but this cannot be overstressed. We must make certain the candy is safe for the little hobgoblins.

I used to eat those waxy bottles of what ever flavor junk was inside them. I don't think it was real wax..but they sure tasted great. Than again, we had Rock candy too... what KIDS WILL put in their mouths!!

no yeast means
- no more beer
- no more vinegar
- no more bread

between the sugar and the yeast, i basically can't eat at most restaurants anymore.

i also try to avoid the high-fructose corn sweeteners whenever possible - not allergic, but they just don't seem healthy, in principle. ditto for the artificial sweeteners.

There's plenty of carbohydrates to be had in other foods without refinement. I'm eating a quasi-paleo diet these days: lots of whole food: nuts, fruits & vegetables, greens, some grass-fed meats. Boring as hell, but it seems to keep the MS symptoms at bay.

I gave up smoking 4 or 5 years ago (I don't recall exactly when) but I took up candy as a substitute. Now I really need to break the candy habit. Hard mints, fun size snickers and milky ways, Reese's mini cups, Hershey dark chocolate kisses, etc. etc. I kept a jar full of assorted candies on the kitchen counter.

But today, I finally walked right past the candy in the supermarket, telling myself "I must be strong, I must be strong." (Damn, I'm virtuous!)

But oh, how I love that candy corn. I'm going to look at the picture you posted and close my eyes and imagine eating candy corn. Yummmm. I am imagining how good it tastes. Mmmmmm.

Those who actually eat candy corn, and those like me who think its cute and festive but not edible.
Chocolate, however...sadly I live in a neighborhood with lots of kids and no matter how much candy I buy, there's never any left at the end of the night.

Halloween before, like they used to. One of my favorite traditions were the fire departments which would offer hot apple cider with cinnamon donuts for dipping.

Candy, chocolate, donuts, ice cream, etc.

When I was a kid, I used to give all of my Halloween candy to my siblings.
