Anyone else think DU should have an stickie containing info on reporting voting irregularities...

Contact numbers and information on how to report incidences?

Perhaps even keep a tab on States and Counties where the problems occur, etc.

I just tried looking for a post that contained contact information and I'm going to have to resort to a DU search for it - just thought it'd be easier to have a Stickie at the top of the GD forum, Politics 2012, Latest Breaking News Forums.

Hate to say it but it may come in handy..

If you observe anything wrong at the poll, just tell the Democratic poll watcher. They'll be there. leveymg Oct 2012 #6
Wouldn't that be just the sort of thing to "stickie"? nc4bo Oct 2012 #7
That's fine, but a lot of what I'm seeing posted here lately on the subject is just plain bad info leveymg Oct 2012 #8

Without access to source codes or a system in place that includes random spot checking in multiple districts comparing intent with actual numbers (or hand counting opti-scan ballots), how would we know if there's anything to report? They can verify that the numbers of persons voting matches the number of votes cast- but not that the votes cast match what the machine is tabulating without accessing the coding of the machines which as far as I know, is not something any of the manufacturers (all GOP owned) permit.

But the info should be easy to find and contain procedures on what to do.

Just tossing this post out there to see if there's enough interest in doing it so DU Admin. would consider it a good idea.

Less than 2 weeks - lots of early voting going on and GE coming up fast.

No need to go hunting around for the phone umber of third party organizations or the FBI.

There are lots of regular DUers here (self included as you are too) that know what to do but there are also many not as informed.

I've been posting info on my FB page about voter intimidation, irregularities, etc. and what to do about it and just thought it a good idea to have a list of easy to find info, which was why I needed to do a DU search.

This post isn't a hair on fire post or concern troll post.

Everything from posts urging people to video record their voting experience -- illegal in many states -- to posts listing the FBI telephone number in Washington, DC.

It's really not that complicated. Virtually every precinct will have a Democratic poll watcher who has a cell phone with a Democratic operations center on speed dial. Many places will also have a trained election protection worker on site or nearby.

This I am sure of.
