Right now, I am disgusted with the level of humiliation President Obama has received...

Being asked to provide his birth certificate?...

What other President has been asked to show transcripts? A passport application?

Who was dumber than Bush? Was he ever asked to show his transcripts?

A black person can't possibly have got to a position in life without affirmation action?

Is this a microcosm of today's society, where non-whites are asked on a daily basis to prove themselves?

My parents raised me to be color-blind, it worked very well until I moved to the US, where everyday it is put, left,front and center as a filter of how people are viewed.

You can't be "color-blind" HipChick. We have different colors, different contours, different backgrounds.
BUT we CAN be respectful & accepting of those differences & treat each other like equals.

I'm glad you awakened to the fact the U.S. is STILL a very racist society.
It gets weaker & weaker on that front every year but racism is still strong here.
Hell it's only been a little under 50 years since the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was passed.
You can't expect that venom to disappear in that little time span.

But Obama will persevere & drive a wooden stake into these racist mentalities when he gets his 2nd term.
It's VERY important that we get behind him enthusiastically.
I was angry at him a couple of years ago & dropped out of the political scene altogether.
But I recognized a little while afterwards that I have to look at the big picture & not get bogged down by the minutia.

He's THE ONE that's gonna change the entire course of this country for the better.
Look at how the Republican Party has fallen apart since he's been in office.
With them out of the way we will get that CHANGE we were looking for as we move FORWARD.
He IS a master of 3-dimensional chess.

They hounded them without mercy. A British journalist wrote a book entitled "A Coup Attempt in Washington" about the impeachment. Which was just about right. And they still yell about Carter claiming he was in on the hostage taking. I swear to God, in my most parinoid moments, I think the GOP set it up to get Carter out of office.

They are a ruthless bunch with no scruples and no conscience.

It is their love of money that rules them. They don't want lower taxes and less spending, they just don't want Democrats to have any say over how that money is spent because it would be more fair to the poor and middle class. They want to control the money. And so do we. But we believe in sharing. They do not.

It's not only that they are racists, its that they are dirty rotten scoundrals and we can't let anyone think it is just because Obama is Black. Had it been someone else, they would have trashed him/her too. I used to think it was just Clinton and Carter but now I'm convinced it is any democrat.
