Imagine if Obama had been President on 9/11/2001, with today's teabagger Congress

For the sake of this discussion, let's pretend that Obama was President on 9/11/2001, and had reacted much the same way Dubya did (I know that wouldn't have happened - but just go along to see the point I'm making). Let's also pretend that he had to deal with today's rethugs and teabaggers.

Then suppose the media found out that the President was sitting on intelligence that terrorists were plotting to use civilian aircraft to attack US targets, such as the WTC and the Pentagon.

Somehow I think things would have turned out very differently if it had been Obama, Gore, or any other Democrat sitting in the White House under those circumstances.

Of course, if there had been a Democrat in the White House (which there should have been), steps would have likely been taken upon receiving such intelligence, and such an attack would have never happened in the first place.

1. 9/11 Wouldn't Have Happened

Bush and Cheney let (or made) it happen on purpose.
Just in time to stop the Senate from looking too closely at that 2000 election.

2. Impeachment hearings would have begun immediately and 78% of Americans

would have joined in cheering...

At LEAST that number, maybe more...you know Dems like I know Dems...first to jump ship..

3. Yeah the country rallying behind W

Was disgusting and sad. But the fact remains that it would NOT have happened under a democrat. Didn't you have the feeling that morning that that was true? I mean didn't we realize even then that Bush had dropped the ball and that incompetence, distracted indifference to reality and fantasy about a non-existent cold war had finally had their expected effects?

W was an incompetent man-child. His handlers were evil men bent on neo-colonialism and bizarre fantasies about the importance of missile defense. 9/11 was the inevitable result.

4. Gore would've been impeached, disgraced, never re-elected

I lost faith in American people after Bush was propped up and reelected despite his incompetency and failures and now almost half of Americans are blaming Obama for everything bad as if Bush who was in charge for 8 disastrous years bears no responsibility.
