Romney and his henchmen knew that they could telegraph their tell any lie strategy to"journalists" and the stenographers and horse race analysts would report the rest of the campaign through that incredibly cynical frame. The sad state of affairs that the fourth estate has fallen into results in our pundits wondering aloud whether the chameleon strategy will work rather than probing whether it is wise to elect a man with no scruples, beliefs or civic morals.
