They want a horse race. With all the superpac money floating around. Who gains by making this election look close? The media outlets that are the recipient of all this cash. It's all a vicious circle. Citizens United needs to be overturned plain and simple. Get big money out of politics. It's our only hope.

5. Watched the whole speech again on C-SPAN, and the laughter was muted way down

Xfinity has all of the debates On Demand. C-SPAN sound techs muted the laughter way down, I had to turn the volume up to even hear it, even then it was just a murmur.

Watching the NBC version now, and maybe I was feeding the cat, but it seems that Mitt's 'we need more ships' stupidity, and thus president Obama's clever retort, might have been edited out altogether.

OK, it was at the 44 minutes mark and while it was there, on the NBC video, again, the laughter was quite muted.

The high frequency sounds come through in your video. It may be that the laughter was muted to comply with the rules laid out at the start of the debate, stating that there will be no reaction of any kind from the audience after the initial introductions.

Too bad the rules didn't include 'No mocking, mawkish, maudlin, smirking, buttfaced gazing at your opponent.' We could have had Mitt muted out almost completely.

9. Look when Obama finishes with, "We visited the website quite a bit and it still doesn't work."

That's when it's loudest and look at the audience members you can see in the shadows. There's one guy that puts his hand over his mouth to keep from laughing out loud.

10. The muted videos of the debate seemed to lean less in Obama's favor

Not just the laughter, I am going to have to watch again, with the altered NBC version on TV and your Youtube version on my laptop, to figure it out why. Your version is what I saw when I watched it live.

Probably because everyone in the media knows they pride themselves on being heavily armed.
