hit rough patches in their relationship. I have been married to the same person for nearly 44 years. We had difficulties early in our marriage....mainly due to finances. Being poor has its drawbacks and often takes a huge toll on marriages. Later, we struggled as we both changed and grew into more mature human beings. We stuck it out and now have a pretty decent relationship, if not perfect. I would be shocked to learn that Barack and Michelle Obama have not had any time in their married life when they questioned whether they would stay together. Clearly, they seem to have worked those differences out and the way they look at one another shows a couple who love and respect each other.
