Just saw a new ad this morning----

featuring a Chinese actor, speaking in Chinese with English subtitles, explaining the demise of countries around the world, including the US, and saying "Now they work for us." It specifically mentions "spending our way out of debt policies". Ominous music playing, Chinese people laughing at the last line in the ad (Now they work for us.) It is a clear signal that the next two weeks will be brutal and if we watch TV at all, we're going to be bombarded with this kind of crap. NO telling what is going to show up in the mailbox.

This particular ad was sponsored by Citizens Against Government Waste and Americans for Prosperity Foundation. This ad is a compelling reason why the Citizens United decision needs to be overturned. It was nothing but scare tactics and one lie after another.

taxes are the evils that have 'brought down America'. Tea Party thinking. What we need is a counter ad showing how the Greek middle class and workers have suffered under a policy of total austerity.

But then I thought, with all those subtitles, the low info voters won't bother to try to read it. Still. Appalling.

including into the depths of poverty and illiteracy. Once food and analytical thinking are gone, they won't need to waste money worrying about duping followers any more. They will have transferred all to themselves.

No, they can't afford for the American and Chinese workers to rise together any more than they could afford for the poor whites to rise with the poor blacks in the last century. Fostering hate while preying for profits on the entire world while the developed world, who once overthrew the bastards, eat their own.

As they transfer your job to "China", they poison your mind and tear down your self-worth.

my point is that I think we can expect the lowest form of advertising from Rove and others until Nov. 6th. We should be prepared for anything that they throw out. I am assuming that the Obama camp is going to take the high road and present positive, clean messages that spell out the President's plan with a bit of what has been accomplished so far. The dirty, scary ads may have their "appeal" to a certain type of voter, but I think staying out of that gutter is the way to go. There is an Obama ad posted elsewhere here at DU that is a good example of what I am talking about. The President is smiling, upbeat and tells a compelling story of what he has done and intends to do if he is given another term. If I was not planning to vote for him, I think it might be a convincing reason to rethink that position. He comes off as the rational, smart guy.....cool, calm and collected.
