It's sad.

(25,699 posts)Which is in fact, squashing any positive sentiment about Obama you find around here.
A personal attack would have been citing some personal feature (real or imagined) of yours that is of no relevance to your argument, and using that as basis of criticism for your argument. For instance, your choice of avatar, the quality of your typing, who your mother voted for in 1960, or the total amount of grunge beneath your toenails. "Bonobo doesn't scrub his filthy fucking feet, why should we pay any attention to what he has to say," that a personal attack.
Now, I did reference your choice of screen name, which may be where you got confused. However this was a simile, owing to the fact that a bonobo will pretty much solve any problem through fucking. Works for them, I guess, what the heck. I was likening your sqashing of pro-Obama sentiment ("fucking it into the ground" to the habits of Pan paniscus.

(29,257 posts)that there is very little room between the candidates on foreign policy and the US, sadly, has a very bellicose foreign policy.
The issue is that the fact that Romney agrees so much with Obama on foreign policy is a reflection on how far to the right we have come and not how far tot he left HE has come.
Discussing THAT would be on point. Making it about me and your "intuition" about my motives is a personal attack.

(8,244 posts)But the media really zooms in on and magnifies the differences.
We have a very narrow range of debate, and people zoom in on it and it looks like a big difference.
But if you zoom out a little it's clear they agree on most things.

(29,257 posts)It is properly pronounced "Fuji-san" with "san" being the Chinese reading for the Kanji for "yama".
