(10,749 posts)Sure, it was hysterical at the time. Sad, funny, etc.
However, a few years after that I saw her interviewed on some show - can't remember which - and she was a hoot. She acknowledged that she was woefully unprepared, and had some fun laughing at herself. But was she ever poised. Much brighter. Much more tuned in. Focused, intelligent. A transformation. I have no idea what she's up to now, but at the time of that interview she seemed to have her life, and herself, together.
I have no problem with videos mocking politicians. They are just too much fun. But they are in the public eye from start to finish, and that's the price they pay. Miss South Carolina had one bad day, transformed herself, and deserves credit for that.
