I live in northern Lake County, IL, It is the only county between Cook County (Chicago) and the Wisconsin border along Lake Michigan. This is a fairly heavy Republican County. Not many national signs here, mostly just state and local Republican yard signs where I live.
Today was the first day of early voting in Illinois. What's the story here in Republican country? A less than five minute wait. Only a dozen folks either in line or actually voting. I overheard one of the workers say they have had 200 people today (Polls open 9-4:30, I voted around 3), e.g. about 30-35 an hour...hahahahahaha.
No signs..no lines...not exactly a big rush to vote for Romney. We are not a swing state, but I am wondering if others in Republican leaning areas are seeing the same lack of enthusiasm...
Hopefully the pictures I am attaching show up. It is my first attempt.

(1,846 posts)2011 US Census estimate of population in the county is 706,000. There are very few rural spots here. It is mostly suburbs now from Chicago all the way to Milwaukee along Lake Michigan.
