The most important thing for the Republicans ISN'T that they win elections…

Last edited Mon Oct 22, 2012, 04:21 PM - Edit history (1)

It's important that they do that, for sure, but apparently the MOST important thing is something else entirely.

That most important thing is that they're using elections as a very convenient excuse to act out as complete fucking assholes. Whether or not they win elections from being the assholes that they are, this sometimes seems to be is utterly disconnected, one from the other.

When they're on their asshole kick, it's clear that nary a fuck is given about what detrimental effect their assholism would have on their chances. That's the thing behind their worship of Ayn Rand. She wrote their manifesto to living their lives as the selfish assholes that they can unabashedly live.

Which explains their penchant to cheat and lie at every opportunity… It's compensation for their assholism. Besides, they've got a ready reservoir of billionaires who are footing the bill to get them elected. It's much easier for the Republicans to give in to their own intrinsic assholism, get paid for their behavior by their rich sponsors, than it is for them to try to get elected strictly on the merits of NOT being complete assholes.

Their priorities are abundantly clear: Be assholes first, get elected second, satisfy the needs of their rich benefactors third, break the electoral system in their favor fourth, and lastly fuck everyone that they hate.

Running the government? Taking care of the American People? Being RESPONSIBLE?

Fuck all that shit, they're too busy being the greatest assholes that they can be.

TO ALL CONSERVATIVES OF GOOD WILL
.
One of the reasons that MOST Americans don't take conservatives seriously, and even conservatives know it ( that's why even as we speak the GOP is trying to obstruct voter participation), is because conservatives see part of their mission as maintaining the "American myth." And part of that myth, to put it in a conservative friend’s words is, conservatives "want everyone who is able to be free to exercise their own positive, self-responsible skill-sets as best they can." But that's not the GOP agenda at all. The actual GOP agenda is to perpetuate a White male dominated Society. Clear evidence of that can be seen in the fact that the GOP is against equal pay for women and promoting the myth of American exceptionalism, when everybody else on Earth knows that the United States' entire history has been one of greed, hypocrisy, and brutality. http://wattree.blogspot.com/2012/10/american-exceptionalism-conversion.html
.
Now, you conservatives will say that my willingness to say that and not join you in promoting the American myth demonstrates that I'm "un-American." But the fact is, loving America is not about our willingness to lie for it, but our willingness to fight to make America actually conform to the myth that conservatives are content to merely lie about. So what I suggest is that conservative sleepwalkers wake up and join the real world in our fight to make America a better place. The ghosts of the millions of people that we've murdered and brutalized will applaude you for it.
