A facebook post I saw yesterday: President Obama is going to charge everyone $1.50 to use Google.

No actual source, not even from some fringe right wing "news" website.

Just a pure, unadulterated rumor without any support or substance.

If bullshit like this can be believed, this makes me more pesimistic about the next two weeks. I hope I'm wrong.

That once the President is reelected,he will raise some vague tax on small business from 17% to 38%..She knows this to be true, because her sister told her so....She is worried because,as owner/operator of a beauty shop,in which only SHE works, she is a small business...

Her sister, who clued her in to this new tax,is a birther teabagging faux noose/limbaugh parroting nut bag,who attends one of those churches in which the pastor tells his flock what to think and who to vote for....

9. So you have to deal with the rightwing side of the family too?

Good luck.

My mother-in-law and father-in-law's families don't have the coziest relationships with one another, yet they both manage to be hard core Republicans. My side of the family is the sole beacon of hope for my kids.

My in-laws had a Romney placard in the window of the kid's playroom at their house. When I was in there watching the kids I had to pull the blinds closed so I didn't have to look at the thing.

Luckily...Happily,only my MIL and her wackjob sister, both of whom are in their 70s....My MIL is a repub SOLELY because "daddy always was"...No other reason is ever offered...Well "daddy" was a WW2 Vet and a Pearl Harbor survivor and was an "Eisenhower" republican..While MIL readily admits that todays GOP would hate Ikes guts, she can't connect the dots leading to the inescapable conclusion that the modern GOP is traitorously UnAmerican, and undeserving of any high office..But my Father in Law is hardcore Dem..They cancel out each others votes every single time...

Her sister who I rarely have to endure in person is just batshit crazy....Attends a "church" that is a whisker shy of being "snake handling" insane...She is constantly telling MIL,who is the older sister, all the latest birther/communist/socialist/muslim/ gun confiscating "facts".She unabashedly describes to MIL just exactly what the things to think and say,for the week,as related directly from Jesus as told by her pastor..Even who to vote for, even though,in EVERY case, that candidates agendas and policies are in stark contrast to what the Bible actually says Jesus teaches...Go figure....

They had a really cool arts and crafts program. And at night, we snuck over to the DHHS camp and stole their underwear.

I do have to say that urban legends were more fun in pre-internet days.

A couple of years ago, my brainwashed right-wing FIL, who does nothing all day but sit around and watch Faux News and get mad at things, told my wife that Obama was going to pass a law called "Cap and Trade," and under that new law, government agents would come around to your home and take away all your wood-burning stoves and incandescent light bulbs. And he actually believed it.

Mind you, this is the same person who told me just a few weeks ago that it was good that my dad got a new pacemaker now, because when Obamacare goes into effect, it's going to create a panel of people who aren't doctors who will deny needed health procedures to people who are too old.

And what's more, his constant propaganda is starting to wear down his wife, my MIL, who is actually a very reasonable, intelligent person, and usually has enough sense to ignore his bullshit. The other day, my MIL (a breast cancer survivor) told my wife that she better go have her mammogram done right away because once Obamacare is implemented, her insurance company would no longer cover it.

I just want to grab all these people and shake them, and then ask them, "Remember all the horrible things that you said were going to happen if we elected Obama in '08? Have ANY of them happened? Then why do you continue to believe it when right-wing assholes try to feed you lies and stir up fear?" Remember when all we heard was, "If you elect Obama in '08, he's going to raise your taxes, take away all your guns, and we'll be attacked by terrorists every other weekend"?

to take away their wood burning stoves. AND that the President will put them in re-education camps that are being built secretly around the Country.

My biggest joy was saying to her, when she went on about the camps, "wow.. that's too bad. Of course they'll be putting YOU in the camps, not me.. I'm already educated." then I laughed and went in the house.
