(36,988 posts)but it still makes no difference in looking ahead to tonight's debate.
I'm noticing a lot of crazy desperations going oni in the final weeks and that includes the media and the GOP.
I expect besides mud and slander we will see the kitchen sink, a Willy Horten, an OJ Simpson, day old piss, cow paddies including the usual bull thrown just to see what will stick until election day..... It an't gonna be pretty.

(5,405 posts)Anybody not wishing for an alternate reality saw Obama getting beaten pretty handily in the first debate, not on truth or substance but just because Romney came off aggressive and confident while Obama had no response for the lies being whipped out at breakneck speeds.
Here on DU, it's was a swarm of Obama won and using the idiotic rope a dope lines or trying to play off his supposedly grand strategy... in all actuality, the campaign knew he blew it and said as much the next day even though it seemed the most vocal posters here would shout anybody down that would say as much.
The past three debates (including the VP debate) our side kicked ass and last night was a whipping. I expect the Fox News toon to be relevant to how they spin it. I agree with you though that here on this site there is a serious lack of objectivity when it comes to "our guy" and some are downright sycophantic about it. It's disappointing because more often than most we have been a group that believes in facts and integrity in our arguments. It's the OTHER side that uses idiotic, mindless gut reactions to most every argument. Yet here we are, often blending right in to our counterparts' strategy.
