"The middle class makes too much money."

Yesterday, a telephone canvasser for President Obama's campaign asked an individual in an affluent community in southwestern Pennsylvania if he was supporting President Obama in the upcoming election. His response was an emphatic no and he expressed the following rationale for his decision: "The middle class makes too much money."

3. That nonsense lies at the core of what is WRONG with GOP-Conservative economic policy

Without the middle class to spend money (2/3rds of all economic activity), there would be fewer profits and fewer successful small businesses and fewer millionaires ....

When the middle class gets paid for the true value of their work, then the whole system cranks up for EVERYONE .... Middle class pay is THE engine of success for the greatest number of citizens .... The refusal of business to increase wages over the last three decades, combined with steady inflation in consumer prices over that same time frame, has left the economy stilted and weak - starving for a breath of fresh air .... THOSE missing wage increases were the stimulus that has been missing - If wages were maintained to match the price of inflation - There would be no malaise ....

The whole system has been completely FUCKED UP by those supposed economic geniuses in the conservative movement ....

Conservatives had won the day - They got their wish ... Years ago, they stopped giving decent wage increases, and this stagnation is a direct result of that policy ....

I dont care what CEOs make - It's what workers make that matters, and that is where the GOP is dead wrong - GOOD Middle class pay is absolutely essential to a mutually beneficial market ..... They have it all backwards, as usual ...

the only path to the upperclass is the process of making increasingly more money in the middle class. I'm not sure anyone is dumb enough to say this.

Too bad the rich don't pay higher prices for everything so their bloated salaries paid proportionally.

that I cannot bother to have fixed because of the cost.

It's not that I cannot afford to have them fixed; it's just that I enjoy the pain and self-conciousness of them in social situations...
