I am actively working in the field, and this is quite honestly the first time I have heard of this.

To me a good journalist reports what is going on, the facts ma'am, and just the facts. Nor will personal politics get in the middle of it. But serious, we do? And my husband has been working on and off in the field as a photo journalist for 30+ years, and nope, any oath never came up.
