2005: Maytag Washing Machine Corp. American Icon in Iowa---Bain tried to help Chinese take it over

this is old news, but is everyone aware that Romney's Bain was attempting to aid the Chinese in their
attempt to purchase an American icon, located in Iowa?

Does anyone have time and inclination to compile more about this?

1. That was about when Maytag relocated their manufacturing to Mexico. That's all I know.

It was the last major appliance manufacturer in the US. We don't have any now.

3. I own 3 Maytag appliances never a problem...

all bought back in the mid 90's . They took our old 1964 washer away and fixed it (leaking crank case seal) of grease & put it on the showroom floor.

4. I bought nothing but Amana and Maytag appliances. They lasted forever.

I bought a Whirlpool washer recently and despise it. Same with my dishwasher.

If I could, I'd pay to have my old Maytag and Amana appliances repaired and take them back.

2. They now manufacture their Neptune

washing machine in Korea. They are still involved in a lawsuit over their handling of pension funds. They have moved to the South to take advantage of non-union conditions there. I still don't like them much.
