Over a year that comes to 1460 deaths. So 1500 deaths is what i googled. Which means if Libya happened every day of the year it would be just like the following:
1.Asthma
2.Driver Fatigue
3.Firearm deaths
4.Murder/Suicide
5.Alcohol related deaths in New York City
So if Libya happened EVERY day for a year it would equal just one of these problems or ONE HALF of the original 9/11 under G. W. Bush. The Republicans don't need to investigate Obama-they need to study basic math. Because Libya was unfortunate, 9/11 was a failure, and the 5 examples I gave are only blips on the radar compared to those who die from lack of insurance which is over twenty-five thousand.

(8,976 posts)I'm just trying to put it in context. At the end of the year less than 4 people will have died from shark attacks and more than a magnitude more (51) will have died from lightning strikes. And should Obama be held liable for these??

On edit - please do not diminish their service in the name of politics.

(69,014 posts)They WERE Seals, Marines, whatever, but when they died, they were there for the check, not the patriotism, not the service.
We keep treating them like men in uniform BUT THEY WEREN'T.
I can understand why we don't want to make that distinction, but I'll be damned if I'll give them the same respect I would a Seal or a Marine.

(26,877 posts)Attaway to politicize this event. Shameful, aquart. Damn shameful...

(8,976 posts)But there is a Republican push to make this somehow a personal failure of my President. I know about people killed and damaged by conflicts.I can't bring them back nor do I diminish their service. Do you believe that Romney as President would have prevented this?

(69,014 posts)It happened at the hands of man to make a political point.
And it was sad, that we lost anybody, and tragic for the families...but for the country? NOT SO MUCH.
Stop buying Republican spin. We lost a barracks-full of sleeping marines and there wasn't this much fuss.
And right now, in Lebanon, a neighborhood has exploded in flames, possibly because one Syrian was in it. Get some proportion.

(26,877 posts)Trying to diminish the deaths of the 4 US citizens - in the service of their country - in the name of politics is just plain wrong.
