Adviser: Romney Did Not Support Lilly Ledbetter Act

Adviser: Romney Did Not Support Lilly Ledbetter Act

A top aide to Mitt Romney's campaign, Ed Gillespie, confirmed that the governor opposed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which President Obama signed into law in 2009. However, he would keep it in place. Obama challenged Romney over his refusal to take a clear position on the bill during the debate.

"The governor would not repeal the Lilly Ledbetter Act," Gillespie told the Huffington Post on Tuesday night. "He was opposed to it at the time. He would not repeal it."
