If I was a knuckle-dragger, it would sound to me like he passed over 100 qualified men for a cheap affirmative-action hire, and the women he got couldn't even put in the hours that the job required. They had to have special concessions to go home and cook dinner and deal with the kids--concessions which a man in that position would not have gotten.
I think it may have been an answer that was magically designed to offend everyone, without actually answering the question.
Something in his whole response reminded me of James Watt saying, "I have a black, a woman, two Jews and a cripple. And we have talent."

(8,601 posts)...have Romney completely beat overall. His victory in tonight's debate was way more powerful than his loss in the first.
And I honestly never thought I'd come out of tonight feeling this optimistic.

(7,318 posts)Seriously, he had to skirt (heehee) any question on pay as it would have gotten too cose to reminding the audience that he was so rich he drew no salary as Gov of Mass.
