Serious Point: If the polls showing Romney up by 4% were real, would he have been so antsy tonight?

Because even a weirdo like Mitt would know that, with a substantial lead, he could have cruised through tonight with no unforced errors and into the expectant arms of Blitzer, Todd and Gregory.

I think he must have known that that there'd been no deals sealed & swing state internals a real cause for concern.

For all of his (myriad) flaws, Romney is an excellent liar. That's why I believe he still felt as though he had to score a real victory this evening, that is why he overreached and provided the Obama campaign with a few juicy soundbites, talking points and internet memes.
