But I think she really wants to be seen as a good moderator and she will be after this.

Goes to show how Romney's bullshit withers when actually confronted by facts. Wish this would start a trend...

4. Romney expected to get away with another lie.

He just pushed it too far that time and he got called.

The audience turned on Romney right there. What scumbag for using dead Americans for his own gain.

Wasn't expecting that, at all. Nicely done; reminded me of real journalists of old...

So I'll second that applause...

tried to steamroll her the way he did to Jim Lehrer. She was already annoyed with him, so when he tried to get away with this lie, it gave her a chance to slap him down, and I am pretty sure she was glad for the opportunity.

10. Keep in mind she also heard the response re: "women in binders."
Wed Oct 17, 2012, 12:50 AM

As a woman in a tough field, she KNOWS the subtext...i.e., he was saying, "get me some more women in my cabinet to make me look better." He was not saying, "hey, I know some excellent professionals (who are women...here's the list) who could fill these slots - let's get it done, we need the diversity!"

It was offensive to me as a professional in my own field. I called that one early as a gigantic "WTF is he saying?" Once I understood, I was, "oh, you f'd that up, son." I am NOT a token. How dare you? In other words, I can read between those lines; I've been doing it 25 years. Suck it, Romney.

OK, maybe it's just me. So - personal rant off, but I can't help feeling that Romney's blatant condescension on that topic was not lost on her.

8. Another debate that completely ignored and misrepresented the real issues in this country.
Tue Oct 16, 2012, 11:53 PM

Another debate that completely ignored the growing police/surveillance state, pretended that it does not even exist and is not happening. Another debate blithely avoidant of the fact that our civil protections are being stripped away and indefinite detention and warrantless surveillance are now the law of the land. Another debate that completely ignored the new, massive surveillance center in Utah to give government access to all Americans' phone calls and emails. Another debate that avoided any questioning whatsoever of the beating war drums on Iran or the spreading of drone wars, and any discussion of their moral implications. Another debate that completely ignored the fact that Americans in this country were looted through policy and stripped of forty percent of our existing wealth, and virtually all new wealth funnelled to the top one percent, while banksters responsible still go unpunished. Another debate that completely failed to challenge the utter fabrication by the elite that we need austerity for the people, and that completely avoided any questioning whatsoever about the coming bipartisan assault on Social Security benefits.

Another debate that completely misrepresented to the country what our real problems are and where we are really headed.

Another charade.
