The registry for civilian transferrable full-auto weapons was closed in 1986.

They are very tough to get, and very expensive. I also wouldn't support banning them. If somebody legally owns a full auto rifle, I believe they should be allowed to keep it.

There are certainly a few people who would overturn the ban on full auto, but I don't think they are a majority, and even then, its not a hot issue. I don't think any major politician has tried to overturn the ban on full auto since it was enacted.

Some of these post lead me to believe that people on this forum believe that 'assault' weapons that you can buy today are full auto.

An Ak-47 or AR-15 you can buy today is not full auto, its semi auto. Do people on this forum not realize this?

In fact, he talked about one of his on the local news station when our house burned down in 2000.

Funny nobody arrested him.
